How to Join

1

Request a placement interview here. Choir placement is based on age/grade as well as vocal development, music experience and social readiness. At the placement interview, your singer will be assigned to the best choir for their success.

Children’s Choir is a high-commitment performance group.

2

Placement Interviews are friendly, short and informal. They will be done via Zoom or in person.

Singers should prepare a simple song they know (Happy Birthday or O Canada is fine!). Vocal assessments are about 10 minutes long, and will feel like a mini voice lesson.

3

Upon acceptance, pay registration fees and attend weekly rehearsals and performances. Children’s Choir performs approximately 8 times per season from September to June.

I sing at Coastal Sound because I feel passionate about singing and I like all the unique repertoire that we get to sing. I like that we get to experience new opportunities and learn sight-singing.
