Our hearts are saddened at the loss of one of our beloved singers and friends, Nick Stebbing. Nick passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017.
We will remember Nick’s richly resonant voice, his infectious laughter, and generous, caring heart. Nick always had a good story to share. Often, these stories were about the world travels and adventures that he shared with his family. The photo here shows Nick in New York just over a year ago, where he and his wife Ruth sang in a choir festival in Carnegie Hall!
Nick was a model for how to live life to the fullest: committed, involved and contributing to the community that he loved. He was a Police Constable, a Rotarian, a Christian, a Scouter, a Bass Singer, father, friend and loving husband. Nick and his family have been part of the Coastal Sound choirs for many years. We will miss him tremendously.
A memorial celebration of his life will be held at Eagle Ridge United Church (2813 Glen Drive, Coquitlam) on April 8th, 2017 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, Nick’s family asks that donations be made to things that gave Nick life – Eagle Ridge United Church, Coastal Sound Music Academy, or another worthy charity.
Coastal Sound is creating a bursary in Nick’s honour, so that others can enjoy singing like Nick did. Tax deductible donations can be made to:
CSMA, PO Box 64528, Coquitlam, B.C. V3J 7V7
Please indicate that you would like to direct your donation to the “Nick Stebbing memorial bursary fund”.
